DrivAer fast back hybrid mesh (double)


DrivAer fast back two sedans surface mesh made of triangles, and the volume mesh made up mostly of tetrahedral cells, with prisms in the boundary layer formed using the T-Rex method. The T-Rex max number of layers was 50 in inflation region with a growth rate of 1.2 between successive layers. The exported mesh has been tested with OpenFOAM-v2006 simpleFoam, and converges well but only tested at lower speeds. The provided mesh was exported from the Pointwise case file included with the download. If you want to modify or re-export the mesh you will need a licenced version of Pointwise.

Use the freely available Pointwise Viewer to view virtually any mesh file in 3-D, display it in a variety of styles, and compute any of dozens of mesh quality metrics. Built-in mesh importers are available for two dozen formats, including CGNS, FUN3D, OpenFOAM, SU2, UGRID, and more. If your mesh format isn’t available, an SDK is available for you to write your own mesh importer that appears in the GUI automatically at startup. The meshes can be displayed however best suits your needs: wireframe, hidden line, solid fill, or shaded. Tools are available for measuring distances. And you can assess your mesh’s quality by computing and displaying a wide variety of metrics, including Jacobian, skewness, size ratios, and more. Pointwise Viewer also provides geometry model viewing capability for models in ACIS, CATIA, Creo, IGES, STEP, SolidWorks, STL, and other formats.
